Who Goes to Tea Houses Anyway?

If you’ve ever watched Hollywood movies from the 1950’s, you’d be easily forgiven for thinking that tea houses are a kind of place where old, conservative ladies go to.

The movies made during that time, especially during the early 60’s, really focus on the externalities of tea houses. They reduce tea house visits into some sort of class based or elite level ritual.

For a lot of people, this is absolutely true. For example, if you hang out with a lot of society ladies where people size each other up based on where they are in society, how much money they make, what kind of assets they have, that kind of thing, there’s going to be a lot of rituals involved.

It’s not much different from dogs sniffing each other's butts and trying to guess where they are in the hierarchy chart. This is not much different from how other societies do it.

There’s a lot going on when you go to a tea house, especially modern ones.

A tea house, by enlarge, is a place you go to relax your mind. You may be thinking that this is just a small thing. In fact, you might be thinking that’s insignificant. You have so many things to worry about and you have this place to relax. If you think about it hard enough, that’s all you need because your life revolves around what you choose to think about. This is your mental operating system.

The way you live your life boils down to what you choose to learn and unlearn. These instructions that you have chosen for yourself color and impact your reality.

While everybody agrees that the world really doesn’t care about what you feel and couldn’t care less about your intentions, it does sit up and pay attention to what you do. When you change the way you think, or to put more specifically, change the way you analyze reality or the kinds of meanings you get from the things you perceive from reality, you start feeling different. You say different things. Ultimately, this leads to you behaving differently. The moment you start changing your actions is the moment you start changing your reality.

This can be a life changing thing because you can be a person who struggles with money all day, everyday for most of his or her life.

Then one day, you meet somebody or you read something that really changes how you look at things and you start behaving differently when it comes to money. What do you think will happen? That’s right. There’s a high likelihood that you no longer have to financially struggle. Everyday no longer has to be some sort of grind. Wouldn’t that be awesome? Well, you can trigger that. It really all boils down to what choose to wrap your mind around and that’s the essence of going to tea houses. It’s all about sensory perception and picking up cues from your external surroundings which may have real life changing effects if you let them.

A lot of people would read this and say “Ah this is just bunk. That doesn’t happen. Well, they’re living their own personal hell because that’s how they think.

They’re more than welcome to think that way and get the results that they’re enjoying. You, on the other hand, have a choice. If you’re feeling stuck or you feel like life sucks, what do you have to lose when you start moving around your mental furniture? I’m, of course, talking about your assumptions and expectations.

Make no mistake about it. There is quite a bit of correlation between your external surroundings and what you choose to entertain in your mind. You’re always in control. You may not want to admit it, but it’s true.
